How Measure Your Head, Elbows, Knees and Wrists
Helmet Measuring Guide
Measuring your head for a helmet is important to make sure you get the right fit. We designed the Lifer Helmet with safety in mind, and getting the fit right is critical. It is easiest to do this with a soft measuring tape but if you do not have one you can use a string or a cell phone charging cable and then measure that against a ruler or hard measuring tape. You need to measure your heads circumference and will want to wrap the measuring tape starting in the middle of your forehead and just above your eye brows, then around your head above your ears and back around your head to the middle of your forehead where you started. Put simply you want to measure your head where your hat would normally sit or where you would imagine the helmet to fit on your head just above your eye brows. Once you get your measurement compare it to the sizing charts below or on the individual Lifer Helmet product pages to see which Lifer will fit you.
S1 Pro Knee Pad Measuring Guide
When figuring out what size S1 Pro Knee Pad you are you will need to get two measurements which are the bottom of your quad and the top of your calf. These two spots are where the straps wrap around the leg so that is why we need those two measurements. Take a soft measuring tape and measure 4 inches above the center of the knee cap for the bottom of the quad measurement and 4 inches below the center of your knee cap for the top of the calf measurement. Once you get those measurements compare those to the chart below or on the product page of the S1 Pro Knee Pad.
S1 Wrist Guards, Elbow Pads, Park Pads and Pad Set Measuring Guide
To figure out what size you need measure the circumference of your knees at the knee joint, wrist at the wrist join or elbow at the elbow joint and compare your measurement to the sizing guide below or on the individual product pages of the product you are looking for.
S1 Pads Break Down
Whether you are looking for the highest level of protection, pads for beginners or intermediate level pads S1 has a product perfect for you.
The S1 Pro Knee Pad
Stability
Stability is very important in a knee pad to prevent injury by promoting controlled slides. We put High Rebound Memory foam into our inner knee cup which upon impact molds to your knee stabilizing the knee cap. By stabilizing the knee cap we are able to promote stability, prevent slippage of the knee pad and stop your knee cap from moving around in the knee cup. Instability in a knee pad puts unnecessary stress on your knee ligaments and leg muscles to stabilize your knee in a slide. The combination of our flat PC cap with the High Rebound inner foam cup allows for stable, controlled slides that will prevent your knees from teetering back and forth.
Durability
We created the S1 Pro Knee pad to last by using highly durable fabrics. We used Military grade ballistic nylon for the outer shell material. We use high density foam for the inner knee cup which is a superior shock absorber and with its higher density it will not pack out as fast as less dense foams. We triple stitched every seam to prevent blow outs. We reinforced the stitching at each of the strap contact points to prevent the straps from ripping out with repeated wear and tugging. We use a high quality, high abrasion plastic for the knee cap for a longer cap life. Our back butterfly flaps are made with a very tough neoprene that will not stretch and rip with repeated use. Our top straps are made with a high retention elastic that will not stretch out as quickly as other elastic materials.
Functionality
We created our inner knee cup mold to be streamlined and deep fitting. . By taking out the bulk on the side of the knee cup you will experience a streamlined look and feel to the S1 Pro knee pad. By using high density foam on our inner knee cup we are able to achieve the shock absorption of a thicker foam with a less bulky front profile. The articulating back flaps move separately to promote a secure fit, less slippage and increased mobility without pinching. The S1 Pro Knee pad also has a length adjustment system to allow you to lengthen or shorten the top strap length to the desired length as the straps stretches out over time. The knee cap is affixed with a very high quality Velcro that will not allow the cap to be torn off easily but can be removed and replaced if needed.
The Inner Foam incorporates our Four Tier Foam System
The inner knee cup mold is streamlined and deep fitting and features a four tiered foam system combining high, medium and low density foams with a layer of shock reducing smart foam to achieve both shock absorption and comfort on impact.

Question:
Are the sizing liners what determine the size of the helmet? Or is the helmet mold different depending on what size you buy?
Answer:
Yes the sizing liners are what determine the size of the helmet within each different style of helmet we make.
We do however have 3 different shell sizes in the Lifer helmet series.
https://shop.s1helmets.com/how-to-pick-a-helmet/
1) Mini Lifer is the smallest shell size. https://shop.s1helmets.com/mini-lifer-18-5-20-5/
2) Lifer is the medium shell size. https://shop.s1helmets.com/lifer-21-23-5/
3) Mega Lifer is the largest shell size. https://shop.s1helmets.com/mega-lifer-23-25-5/
Within each of these shells we size them up and down by thinning and thickening the sizing liners.
We color coordinate the sizing liners by size.
XS = Grey
Red = Small
Gold = Medium
Black = Large
Bright Green = Xlarge
Bright Blue = XXL
Purple = XXXL
All of our sizing liners are compatible for each helmet shell style we make.
Question:
What if I want my helmet to fit deeper on my head?
What if I want my helmet to fit not as a deep?
Answer:
The Standard top pad liner that comes in all Lifer helmets is 4mm.
If you want a deeper fit go with the thinner top pad at 2mm.
If you want the helmet to fit not as deep go with the 8mm top pad which will make the helmet sit a little higher on your head.
