Measuring your head for a helmet is important to make sure you get the right fit. We designed the Lifer Helmet with safety in mind, and getting the fit right is critical. It is easiest to do this with a soft measuring tape but if you do not have one you can use a string or a cell phone charging cable and then measure that against a ruler or hard measuring tape. You need to measure your heads circumference and will want to wrap the measuring tape starting in the middle of your forehead and just above your eye brows, then around your head above your ears and back around your head to the middle of your forehead where you started. Put simply you want to measure your head where your hat would normally sit or where you would imagine the helmet to fit on your head just above your eye brows. Once you get your measurement compare it to the sizing charts on the individual Lifer Helmet product pages to see which Lifer will fit you.
If your head measures 18.5 - 20.5" check out the S1 Mini Lifer Helmet.
If your head measures 20.5" - 23.5" check out the S1 Lifer Helmet
If your head measures 23." - 25.5" check out the S1 Mega Lifer Helmet.
It is important to note that our three helmets The Mini Lifer, Lifer and Mega Lifer are 3 different shell sizes that we size up and down by thinning and thickening the sizing liners.
If you are ordering a helmet for someone as a gift and do not know their head measurement it is always a good idea to order a FIT ALL KIT to help the helmet fit perfectly. The Fit All Kit comes with 7 different sizing liners of varying thickness.

HOW TO PROPERLY WEAR YOUR HELMET
It is very important that your S1 Lifer helmet is worn correctly and fitted properly. Your Lifer Helmet should be worn so that it is level on the head and sitting at the middle of your forehead. It is very important to always clip the strap on your helmet and to have your strap adjusted to the correct length, allowing for a minimum of two fingers to be placed between your strap and your chin. You tighten the strap by pulling the excess strap through the helmet clip until you find the ideal length. The excess strap should be folded up and secured using the rubber O-Ring. The strap sliders should be adjusted so that they rest just below the ear lobes. A properly worn helmet should not be tipped back on your head, worn backwards or worn too low on your forehead. A properly fitted helmet should be snug but not so tight that it gives you a headache. There should be no side to side or front to back movement on your head. Once you get your Lifer Helmet sized and adjusted properly you are ready to roll! If you have any questions about helmet fitting or wear instructions please send us an email or give us a call.
