Doug "Pineapple" Saladino ruled the banks, bowls, snakeruns and halfpipes in the late 70's.  Pineapple got the cover shots in the mags and 80's skate superstars like Christian Hosoi and Lester Kasai credit Doug as a major source of inspiration when they were younger skaters.  Doug still rips and chooses the S1 Retro Lifer Helmet as his helmet of choice.

There were many people skateboarding in the late 70’s and there was a group of pioneering individuals who led the pack.
