Howard Hood's Hard Line Skateshop

Hardline Skateshop
3118 Pacific Coast Hwy, Torrance, CA 90505
"S1 Lifer Helmets really work. They have saved me more than a few times." - Howard Hood
Howard says he likes to have at least 12 S1 Lifer Helmets , 4 Mega Lifers (for people with bigger heads) and 2 Mini Lifer Helmets (for smaller heads) in stock in the shop at all times. That is the ideal ratio.
"Howard is 65 and can still grind a deathbox. Howard and his generation have shown us all that if you keep skating and stay healthy you can... keep skating. Howard likes to skate, run his shop and camp/hike/fish out in the Sierra Nevadas with his wife. He was inducted in the Skateboarding Hall of Fame a few years. He has been a part of skating in the 70's, 80's, 90's until now. Do the math - that is 55 years of skate experience. South Bay born and raised he is friends with all the legends like Tony Alva, Christian Hosoi, Lance Mountain, Eric Dressen and even Steve Van Doren. If there is anyone that is qualified to own and operate a skateshop - its Howard. So if your in Torrance check out his shop. He might be gripping a deck behind the counter. We are super honored that Howard likes to wear S1 Lifer Helmets and always has a great selection of S1 Lifer Helmets on display at his shop" - Chris Terins / S1 Helmets

About Howard Howard
Howard starting to skate in 1970, he was inspired by the pros he would see in the magazines. He came into his own at the Runway Skatepark and when Kanoa Surf called about an upcoming contest, Howard became pro. From there he was featured in multiple ads (Indy Ad) and skated in contests. Never one for the limelight, Howard, never having a desire to shop himself or focus on the fame and business end of skateboarding, instead focusing on the act itself. During skateboarding’s decline (in the early 80's), Howard became increasingly fascinated with surfing and punk rock, but skating always followed. Now, Howard Hood still skates and manages Hard Line Skate Shop in Torrace CA. – Chuck Harp / Concrete Disciples March 2024
