AJ Nelson (Skateboarder) : Interview

"Hey Kid, you should get knee pads and a helmet and skate with us!" I'm pretty sure those were the first words we said to AJ back in either late 2015 or early 2016. We were skating at Ollie's. Todd and I on the Vert Ramp and AJ and a friend on the mini-ramp. We could see he had talent. From that day on, we badgered him to try stuff, almost like our trick monkey. The only issue? He pretty much made every trick we suggested he try. When he came and asked to travel with me, I knew it was on. In a little over five years, he's gone from a bald faced kid to a great personality and reputation that precedes him. He makes us proud. - Peter Furnee @pfurnee

Where were you born?

When did you start skating?

2009/2010 (12 years ago)

What are some of your earliest/ favorite memories of skateboarding?

Dropping in the first time was pretty unreal, took me all day at my town local indoor on the mini ramp.

What are some of your favorite or most memorable sessions from the last few years?

Vert Attack 2019 was incredibly fun, met a ton of really rad people from all over, who loved what I loved doing all while over seas. Skateboarding rules!

When can I buy an AJ Nelson Powell Peralta Pro Model?

Ah hell, that’s quite the imagination and pipe-dream! Maybe it’ll happen in 100 years maybe not haha I can’t say

What have you been up to lately?

Living my life and trying to improve from where I was yesterday everyday

What’s in store for 2022?

More skateboarding and much more skateboarding, hopefully traveling to some new places I haven’t seen before. Maybe get up in the air a little more!
