Invest In Your Brain
I was really torn about what helmet to get and what color. In the end I went with the black gloss shimmer and love it. As a college student I want to keep my brain pretty safe since I invest so much in it but also want to do cool stuff on my skates. I was worried that the retro wouldn’t look good on me or would be to tight. I measure and gave myself .5 error margins so I ordered the Large since it comes with XL padding (the size I thought I was) turns out I’m an L since the XL would move if I shook my head. The helmet is comfortable and doesn’t squeeze the ears as much as ai thought it would. The shimmer is really pretty when it catches the light. I feel pretty safe in it and can’t wait till the snow melts so I can get better in confidence!
Would recommend the retro to anyone it’s so much fun just to have it on and look at.
Save a brain!
Well, where do I start?
I bought 3 of the black glitter helmets, when they arrived 2 of the helmets fit the persons they were for just well.
One of the helmets, mine, did not seem to fit right and was tight, it was an XXL so I asked S1 about getting an XXXL but they told me the shells are all the same and that I should change the padding as I paid the extra $10 for the extra 4 sizes.
Not sure how I felt about it at first but then I realized I would not have to send it back or wait for a new bigger size to arrive.
I changed the padding and although its still snug the helmet ended up fitting me right, which led me to go outside and drop in on my Freshpark Quarter pipe for the first time in over 15 years.
The best part of ordering the helmets was when we all measured our heads, it was nice to know I am the one with the biggest brain mass in our little family as I had the biggest measurement.
The wife did not like that she was a L, she said she should have been a M, but I told her at least she is closer to my XXXL size brain as an L, so she agreed.
Aside from looking good our helmets also gave us all just a little more BALLS to try a trick now that we are a little less worried about cracking our head open like a watermelon.
My wife, on rollerskates is now working on approaching the quarterpipe and rolls off ut backwards, she waited till she had her helmet to do that.
I rollerskate and skateboard and am willing to try anything with wheels attached so I practically need an S1 on me all the time!
We got lucky our kid picked the same helmet as we did so the 3 of us have matching black glitter helmets. Over all they fit well and we love them!
Get out there and shred, but remember to protect your valuables, like your brain!
