Where did you grow up? (Can you talk about your Hawaiian or Polynesian descent and the root of your name)

I grew up on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. My name is Heimana and it is of Tahitian decent. My family on my dads mom side is from Tahiti and my family on my dads dad side is from Hawaii. Mana means power and Heimana means power of the haku lei, the haku lei is known as the lei from heaven and my name comes from the power of Jesus’ crown of thorns when he was crucified.

Tell me your skate story ? (how you started, early influences, favorite memories and favorite sessions)

My dad has grown up around skateboarding and surfing and he introduced me to surfing at a very very young age but I never really picked it off. He introduced me to skateboarding when I was about 6 or 7 and I instantly fell in love with it. I would skate everyday before and after schools and all day on weekends, just any possible chance I could get. My biggest influences as a kid were people like Shaun White, Grant Taylor, Christian Hosoi, Dylan Rieder and so so many more. Growing up in Hawaii it was the perfect playground for me going back and forth from the beach to the skateparks just surfing and skating each and everyday.

What have you been up to lately?

Just moved to Carlsbad, San Diego so I can be closer to the training facility and around the skateboard community of San Diego. I have been training at Nakoa every other day and skating everyday as much as I can, learning new tricks and trying to stay healthy.
